I WANT YOU TO KNOW THAT...

should you so choose, I'm here to help.  My mission is to help, whether you're a Christian or not, as long as you're open to a Biblically consistent cognitive-behavioral  approach to problem resolution.  This is my mission, and so I diligently work to find practical ways to help others deal with problems.

For a lot of people, the problems are anger, or grief, or depression, or stress, or anxiety, or fear, or panic, or dread, or worry, such as result from health problems, or relations with others, or a habit, e.g., an addiction to a substance or to a behavior.

For a lot of people, the problem is a behavior that's naturally embarrassing, something one wants to keep secret.  This could include adultery or fornication, including pornography, or chat-room sex, or phone sex, or an impure thought life, or masturbation.  --Let us remember here that God's infallible word tells us: "No temptation has overtaken you but such as is common to man...(I Corinthians 10:13 NASB).

Should you be wondering now what, in a nutshell, I believe, I'm glad to tell you.  I believe  that the original text of the Bible is the inerrant word of God; that Jesus Christ is God made flesh; that He was conceived and born of the virgin Mary by the power of the Holy Spirit; that He was crucified so that sins of all who repent and come to Him are forgiven; that He arose from the dead on the third day; that He ascended into heaven; that He will come again to judge the living and the dead.  I believe  that salvation is the work of God, not of us, that salvation is by grace, through God-given faith in Jesus Christ.

I am licensed by the Commonwealth of Virginia as a professional counselor and as a marriage & family therapist.  I am board-certified  to practice as a substance abuse counselor.  I hold a master's degree in counseling from Liberty University, have done graduate work in communications at Regent University.  I taught social studies at Southside Community College, have served as a supervisor for licensure  by the Commonwealth of Virginia; have been a workshop leader for alcohol/drug addiction counselors. I'm a charter member of the Association of Biblical Counselors; was a charter member of the National Association of Christian Counselors. I'm a past member of the National Board of Certified Counselors and the National Association of Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselors.
